Faculty research is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of action of industrial chemical, organic and inorganic combustion by-products, environmental contaminants, alcohol, drugs and microbial food-borne toxins. Several studies focus on the effects of various agents on important signaling pathways dealing with oxidative stress, endocrine actions, lipid transport and kinase activation.

Faculty are also investigating chemical/ dietary modulation of carcinogenesis with emphasis on the male and female reproductive tract organs, breast and colon cancer.
