Research Facilities
Laboratories of toxicology faculty are located in various departments. Administrative offices, 4000 sq. ft. of laboratory space and another 1000 sq. ft. for shared equipment are located in the Veterinary Medical Research Building. Faculty and students also have access to core facilities and services of the NIEHS-sponsored Center for Environmental and Rural Health and Superfund Basic Research Program Project. These include a transgenic animal facility, biostatistics, proteomics and genomics core laboratories, extensive imaging instrumentation and support for a field services chemical/analytical laboratory.

Libraries
The University's main library, the Sterling C. Evans Library, holds more than 2 million volumes. The library subscribes to more than 13,000 serial titles in addition to numerous state, national and international newspapers. Electronic information is also well represented--over 4.5 million microforms are located in the Microtext Department.

The University's Medical Sciences Library holds more than 100,000 volumes in print and microform and subscribes to more than 2,000 serials. On-line access is available for literature in the National Library of Medicine and other database vendors. MEDLINE and other specialized databases are available on CD-ROM and the current five years of MEDLINE are also available through the Tex Search service, which can be accessed through the university's on-line network.

The West Campus Library provides services to the Lowry C. Mays College and Graduate School of Business and to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. It holds 550 current periodicals and over 5700 electronic full-text business and agriculture titles.

Many databases are available for on-line searches (at minimal costs) and interlibrary loans are available from any major library in the country.

Student Recreation Center
Texas A&M University's student recreation center is a 286,000 square foot facility. Students can play racquetball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, squash, handball, badminton, roller blade, jog, swim, tan, rock-climb, lift weights, play video games, practice martial arts, buy clothes and equipment, attend concerts and relax in a spa in this $36 million, hi-tech complex.
