Seminar Series
Speakers from across the nation and from within Texas A&M University present various aspects of the field of toxicology weekly during the fall and spring semesters. This series exposes students to diverse areas of research in toxicology and related areas of biomedical sciences. Speakers from outside the university visit with faculty members and students during their trip. This provides students with opportunities to make valuable contacts and discuss research with various scientists in a small group setting.

Student Forum
Once each year, toxicology students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Toxicology Student Seminars. Each student presents a brief presentation on his or her research progress followed by interactions with colleagues and faculty. This program informs both students and faculty of ongoing research activities and provides students with experience in the presentation of their research. Certain students also participate in similar programs in their respective colleges and departments.

National & Regional Meetings
The Faculty of Toxicology supports travel for toxicology students to attend the annual meeting of the Society of Toxicology and the regional Gulf Coast Society of Toxicology. Students are encouraged to participate in platform or poster competitions at these conferences. These travel opportunities allow students to meet other students and professionals within their areas of interest and to begin networking for postgraduate positions and employment opportunities. Many Texas A&M University toxicology students have won prestigious awards at the national and regional meetings. The national SOT meeting provides a placement service for student members approaching graduation and several Texas A&M University graduates have secured employment through this service.
