Texas A&M University lies in east central Texas in Bryan-College Station, which together with the university form a community of 180,000. It is situated within 100 miles of both Houston and Austin, and has commuter airline service to Houston and Dallas.

Life in B/CS offers a wide range of activities. Entertainment activities range from university sporting events to cultural activities, including performance arts and concerts.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, B/CS features 60 parks, including six swimming pools, numerous tennis and basketball courts, biking and jogging trails, softball and soccer fields and other recreational facilities. The area also boasts numerous restaurants, two state of the art movie theaters and shopping including Post Oak Mall, which houses more than 100 stores, services and restaurants.
